Pulitzer Prize-nominated writer and news reporter Dan Egan will be the keynote speaker leading into the Clinton River Watershed Council’s annual meeting to be held at Oakland University this year. His presentation will on the past, present and future of our freshwater resources, including the Great Lakes.
Egan’s talk is scheduled to take place from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in the Oakland Center and is free and open to the public. Registration for this event is requested but not required.
The event is sponsored by Oakland University and the Clinton River Watershed Council (CRCW) with generous support from the Departments of Biology, Chemistry and English, as well as the College of Arts and Sciences.
Egan, the author of the author of “The Devil’s Element” and “The Death and Life of the Great Lakes," will be available after his presentation for a book signing.
From 6-8 p.m. the same evening, the CRCW will hold its annual meeting in Oakland Center and campus and community members are invited to attend.
At this year’s meeting, attendees will learn about the organization’s work over the past year and its plans for 2025. Information will also be available for those interested in becoming involved with the CRCW and its efforts to improve the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair.
